“ ‘He is all.’ Where shall we find sufficient power to glorify Him, since He is the Great One, above all His works, the awe-inspiring Lord, stupendously great and wonderful in His power?” (Ecclesiasticus 43 v 27, 28, 29 TNJB)
Where indeed!
Come, Holy Spirit of faith,
Of prayer and praise,
Of wonder and worship,
Of awe and admiration.
Come, let us adore Him,
The Lord God Almighty,
The Father of our Saviour,
The Deliverer who sends Jesus to us.
Come, gift us adoration,
Give rise to words of appreciation.
You have already spoken to us:
“Exalt the Lord in your praises as high as you may – still He surpasses you. Exert all your strength when you exalt Him, do not grow tired – you will never come to the end.” (Ecclesiasticus 43 v 30 TNJB)
Let us pray with heartfelt praise,
Daily proclaiming all holy power
To be found in the name of Christ Jesus,
Our hope, our peace, our joy fully fulfilled.
He is the God of praise in whom we amaze,
Suffering the †due to our sinfulness,
Gaining forgiveness with eternal blessings for us.
The Lord God on high is why we rejoice,
Lifting our voice in warmest appreciation.
Express His steadfastly loving, faithful kindness.
Our Father comes to us in Jesus, by the Holy Spirit.
All laud and praise must ever, ever be.
“Blessed are You, Yaweh our God from everlasting to everlasting, and blessed be Your glorious name, surpassing all blessing and praise!” (Nehemiah 9 v 4 TNJB)
“Who has ever seen Him to describe Him? Who can glorify Him as He deserves?” (Ecclesiasticus 43 v 31 TNJB)
Only One, the Saviour we call Christ Jesus! Dearest Father, I say You have covered Yourself in glory, in Your Son, the Lord Jesus, as we learn at the hand of Your Holy Spirit.
“You, Yaweh, are the one, only Yaweh, You have created the heavens, the heaven of heavens and all their array, the earth and all it bears, the seas and all they hold. To all of them You give life, and the array of heavens worship You,” (Nehemiah 9 v 6 TNJB) as we do too.
As a Trinity of love and mercy, You are our life of hope, of peace, our joy in the belief of our faith. For out of loving kindness, Your total mercy towards us, we can pray in a positive way, expecting Your response.
“ ‘May the LORD, who is good, pardon those who decide to follow the LORD, the God of their ancestors, even though they ae not properly cleansed...” (2 Chronicles 30 v 19 NLT) Please heal us of all sinfulness, every fault and failing.
Father, there are so many areas that need changing by us so we stand on all godly principles, all upright and pleasing to You. Please lead the way in the Lord Jesus, the Light of Life, our forever Saviour.
Empower and enthuse our faith by Your Spirit, as You are the Giver of all good gifts, please deepen and strengthen our faith’s knowledge and understanding. May we be fully attentive to the promptings of the
Holy Spirit.
As a people of faith we must remain positive at all times, even amidst hardship. This is challenging for us Lord, and again we need the input of Your Holy Spirit, the Life Builder, our Faith Equipper, drawing us
nearer to the Lord Jesus.
Your Son is our highest praise and our offer of worship. Without Him You would not heed us because You cannot bear that which is ungodly. Thank You for sending us a Redeemer Saviour, a new life of faith and
prayer made ours by and through the Lord Jesus.
Thus we experience a real hope, peace and joy, thank You. They all arise out of Your love gifted us in the Word made Flesh, love manifest, our sin atoned for, our forgiveness graciously gifted. We are given what we
do not, can not earn, Your love, Your mercy.
“Let each generation tell its children of Your mighty acts; let them proclaim Your power. I will meditate on Your majestic, glorious splendour and Your wonderful miracles,” (Psalm 145 v 4, 5 NLT) without number or equal.
Kind and sympathetic, You are Lord God, “...the Lord full of tenderness and mercy” (James 5 v 11 NLT) as shown us by the Lord Jesus and made real to us, to apply to us personally, by the Holy Spirit.
“Merciful and compassionate, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love,” (Psalm 145 v 9 NLT) You are compassionate in the majesty of Your love. “All of Your works will thank You, LORD, and Your faithful followers will praise You.” (v 10)
When I think of the countless ways You have prospered me and my family, without even being asked sometimes! You have made the gift of faith precious beyond compare to me. Thank You.
“Don’t you see how wonderfully kind, tolerant and patient God is with you?” (Romans 2 v 4 NLT) Yes, I do! “Does this mean nothing to you?” (Cont) It means everything to me. “Can’t you see that His kindness is intended to turn you from your sin?” (Cont) Yes, I can and I long to make better progress.
Thank You for any progress I have made by turning to Your Son and Your Spirit. Faced with a potentially worrying ailment currently my feelings echo those of Saint Paul, wanting to remain alive to help others to
“...grow and experience the joy of our faith.” (based on Philippians 1 v 25 NLT)
I am convinced the most appropriate and effective way to delight and honour You, dearest Father is “...that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every
tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to Your glory, Lord God, Father.” (based on Philippians 1 v 10, 11 NLT)
This is because we have been made right in Your view and have peace re-established between us, because of all the Lord Jesus has accomplished for us, in His life, in His death and by His resurrection. We know He is
our forever Saviour, the Word of Life, true love manifest, life changed completely, always for the better.
“Because of our faith, Christ has brought us into this place of undeserved privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing Your glory,” (based on Romans 5 v 2 NLT) the glory of the Trinity.
Ours is a joy giving faith, a life well worth living, enjoying the privileged friendship of Christ Jesus, in touch with the Holy Spirit, knowing however happily content we are, the best is yet to come.
Jesus’ followers “Will speak of the glory of Your kingdom; they will give examples of Your power.”
(Psalm 145 v 11 NLT) I only have to think of the advances in science and in technology this century, to see Your mighty hand at work, Lord God.
“They will tell about Your mighty deeds and about the majesty and the glory of Your reign. For Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, You rule throughout all generations.” (v 12, 13) Thank You for ruling over us so mercifully, compassionately loving.
You are faithful towards us and gracious, steadfastly generous, always wanting nothing but the best for us.
To this end You have sent us Your Son and Your Spirit, both showing Your likeness of perfect love. You remain ever close to us and life is good!
There is no such to praise You for, to thank You for! We rejoice to be able to come before You now, Eternal Father, prompted to do so by the Holy Spirit and daring to do so for we belong to the Lord Jesus. It is in
Him, as believers, “The eyes of all look to You in hope.” (v 15)
For You are “Close to all who call on You in truth,” (based on v 18) the truth we find in the appealing wisdom of our Saviour, the One through whom You grant our desires, help and rescue us, ever being protective towards us by the purifying, sanctifying Spirit.
Thank You for everything which You make worthy. “I will praise You LORD, and hope for everyone on earth to bless Your holy name forever and ever.” (based on v 21) “Praise the LORD!” (Psalm 146 v 1 NLT)
“Let all that I am praise You, LORD. I will praise You, LORD, as long as I live. I will sing praises to You, my God with my dying breath,” (based on Psalm 146 v 2 NLT) or at least I hope to.
“Joyful are those who have the God of Israel as their helper,” their Redeemer Deliverer, their Saviour Sanctifier, “Whose hope is in You LORD, our God.” (based on v 5)
Forever You reign over us, majestic in omnipotence. Yet You are so close to us in the Lord Jesus, occupying the main focus of our everyday life. And You are active and effective in efforts to make this world a better,
brighter, holier place. For Yours is the kingdom of love where we learn to flourish. Thank You so much for the way in which You always bless us. Amen.
